Uncharted Waters 2: New Horizons - Review
|
Have you ever dreamed of being a 16th century pirate? Have you ever dreamed of sailing the high seas, to chart waters, for sailors in generations to come? Have you ever dreamed of commanding a fleet into the 7 seas to do battle, or to make your fortune in trading? As we know, our dreams are as far as it can go, unless you play this extremelt replayable game called "Uncharted Waters 2: New Horizons". With 6 characters to choose from, each have their own unique storyline, which in some small part, do intertwine at times. Choose one of the 6 adventurers, and you are on your way to an adventure with many puzzles, mysteries, and surprises, and you sail to the ports of the known world, and discover new things.
Each character has their own mission. For instance, Sir Otto Baines is a Navy General, sent by the King of England, to set forth, and create a fleet strong enough to defeat the Spanish fleet, who is plundering the New World, and monopolizing it for their own benefit.
Ali Vezas is a poor boy, who has lost contact with his family, but aspires to find out about his long lost sister, and also make his fortune in trading along the way.
There are 4 more adventurers to choose from, each with their own goals, involving aspects like piracy, adventuring, trading, cartography, and discovery. It is best to advance the skills for each character, that will help your character advance in his/her own storyline. You will be challenged by mysteries, and given many clues on the way. You will meet many strange people, and also, meet some of the other 5 adventureres on the way, in some sort of cameo within your storyline.
For the fact that there are many different adventures to choose from, and that each adventure can be played at your own pace, this game is full of replayability. You can also, if you like, stray from the intended storyline, to follow your own adventure. You can swear allegiance to either country, and advance your rank in your respected kingdom, to gain favor with the king or governor, which will help you in many places. Ask the king for certain favors like tax free certificates, new ships, new jobs, and gold to help you on your way. The king will decide whether it is beneficial that you receive his help.
So embark on a high seas adventure in this great, and intriguing game. I give this game a 9/10 rating, simply because the replay value of this game is very deep.
