We've set up an IRC server for our site. For those that do not know what IRC is, it's a system used for internet chatrooms, and has existed for more than 20 years already 
It should still be considered experimental. We're not sure if we'll keep our own server, create a channel on a public, free IRC network, or even close down the chat again. It depends on how popular the service is, and how much it gets abused.
For now, you're all invited on our official IRC channel

Still, I believe it'd be a bit more 'crowded' if there'd be a web-based client right under the chat section so if anybody even just checks out the url, he/she would be connected to the irc right away

It's really quiet there...wish more people would log on. Chat rooms are pretty hit or miss anyways...either there are people on, or there aren't. The admins are talking about just making it a hidden part of CGN, now, as if it were a failed experiment. Any computer that can connect to the internet can use IRC. If you use Firefox, you don't even need a program, because Firefox has an addon called "Chatzilla" which is an IRC client. Maybe it's because some people are confused by IRC... Maybe it's because this site doesn't have a whole lot of members right now. Maybe it's because I'm fat and ugly. I don't know, but for some reason people rarely sign into the IRC server.
