The Megadrive version had a differnt art style. If you could check up the controllable character portraits.

Since the Jaguar version was rated K-A, the violence is still there!

Syndicate was and still is one of my favorite games...and I think it was outstanding for its time. In terms of funness, I think it still compares to modern games. I loved being able to steal the enemies' stuff, and configure your agents to exact specifications. All you had to do was wait a long time, and you could then research and equip your agents with all the best equipment. Actually, I cheated by running the game a different way to make it faster, and therefore got money way faster and researched and bought everything only a few missions into the game, and then played rest of the levels in normal mode. I don't know if anyone would have the patience to do this without the game being sped up.
There's a web site devoted to both Syndicate games (as well as American Revolt), and it shows exactly how to run the games on modern computers (at least with Windows XP), and makes it pretty easy to configure Dosbox to run it. Here it is: http://syndicate.lubie.org |
