has a source port released http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/download-dxx-rebirth/ D1X for descent 1 and D2X for 2.

There are OpengL and directx user addons somewhere. Somebody has also overworked the whole graphics for higher resolutions. I don`t know, where to find that stuff, but google should help.
