Game review

This is the last and I think the best Commander Keen game ever, it has the usual ingredients of all Apogee-created adventure games, for example Duke Nukem 1 and 2, Bio Menace, Cosmo, etc.. What this usual ingredients are should I will explain right now, the usual ingredients are: a hero (Keen, Duke Nukem, Cosmo, etc.), bad figures that want to attack your hero, a colorful and funny looking game, and cool music.
The way you start Commander Keen 6 is the same as every Keen game, you enter the main menu, you can choose between three game modes (easy, hard or normal) and after that your adventure will start. When you start this game you also see a top-viewed map where you can walk to the levels that are available, not all levels are reachable this is because you have to finish some other levels first to go to it. When you start this game you first of all have to beat some simple mission with (friendly) figures but later these figures will be stronger and stronger and it will be much harder to beat a level, first of all because the levels are much longer, next to that there are more enemies, and when you shoot enemies down you are very quickly out of bullets so you have to find new ones, this is very easy but when you don't do it you won't have any bullets.
I can't say that the graphics are improved because this game uses the same graphics engine as every other next generation Commander Keen game (next generation Keen games are Commander Keen 4, 5 and 6). This version of Commander Keen contains a pong game, like some other Keen games, here it's called Paddle War but basically it's just Pong, when you know the right places you can win these virtual tennis matches in a couple of minutes.
One thing I figured out during the game is that it's not a super idea to use cheats because at several moments you need specific stuff like a rope, when you use cheats to finish a level you don't have this rope what makes it impossible to enter the next part of the world
I think Commander Keen 6 is a nice game, it can keep you busy for several hours, and it's not very difficult so everyone is able to play this game, another good thing is that is also works on Windows XP! When you like Keen, when you love Keen, or whatever download this game when you have some time, it's not big game (around 0.6Mb) and it doesn't look worse at all, it's a very acceptable game like many other good oldies.
Note: This archive contains two files called "Keen6", one is an .EXE file the other one is a .COM file, use the .COM file to disable the copy protection!
