Game review
|
After Formula 1 Grand Prix (also known as Grand Prix 1) was released, it was the standard Formula 1 simulator. Fans of fast cars played this game and they all had one opinion about this game: it's really good!
Formula 1 Grand Prix has -for its age- nice graphics, I think that's the reason why people think it is a very realistic game. But the real realism came when Micropose (later Infrogrames) released their new Formula 1 simulator titles, Grand Prix 2. Grand Prix 2 was released four years after Formula 1 Grand Prix. The graphics were way better. Grand Prix 3 and Grand Prix 4, which are used in a lot of online race communities nowadays, let people really feel how it is to drive a Formula 1 car, because of their excellent graphics. There's still a lot of coding from Formula 1 Grand Prix used in Grand Prix 4.
The names of the drivers in Formula 1 Grand Prix are not the real names of the drivers and teams which were working in the Formula 1 bussiness at that time. Micropose had no rights to use the names of the drivers and teams, that's why they just putted some none-existing names in the game.
Some people start a qualification or a race, but they can't start the car. This is because they try to use the arrow keys, which don't work. You have to use "A" to gas/speed up and "Z" to brake, and the < and > keys to stear your car.
Conclusion
Formula 1 Grand Prix has been played by a lot of people, but what you might not have expected: a lot of people still play it! Most of them just because of the nostalgic feeling, others because they can't run Grand Prix 2 or higher on their computer. If you like to watch the Formula 1 races on television or if you're just a big race fanatic, you should really try this game.
