Psygnosis was founded in 1984 by Ian Hetherington. Psygnosis created more than 100 award-winning titles for many different gaming platforms. Their first titles where written for 8-bit and 16-bit computer systems. In 1993 Sony acquired Psygnosis and in 1995 Psygnosis launched one of their most successful titles ever "Formula 1", after this success they released some more succesful titles like Destruction Derby 2, Wipeout 2097 and G-Police. Psygnosis is best known from the Lemmings series and some addictive action/racing games. In 1998 Eidos Interactive bought a part of Psygnosis. In the year 2000 Psygnosis stopped for good.
